Tozer on his way?

Having earlier in the month confirmed Big Sam will be limited to signing 'development` style players in the January window, it looks like Newcastle have acted fast and tied up a deal for Swindon defender Ben Tozer who will have talks after the Robins accepted a bid for the 17-year-old.

The Robins have accepted an initial low six-figure fee, which could rise to 1.1m depending on appearances. Tozer has played seven games for the League One side this season and, despite the new in-coming chairman claiming he`ll try to tempt Tozer to stay, it looks as if he`ll sign in time for January. Whether we`ll loan him back is another matter that doesn`t seem to have been disclosed.

We'll see - we've had our fingers burnt on a few 'bright young things' in the past.
