Scousers Back In For Owen?

According to the national tabloids, Michael Owen is one of four strikers who are reportedly summer targets for Anfield boss Rafael Benitez. The Liverpool manager stopped short of buying the player back in the summer when he said he only had £9m to spend. But he could be back to try and tempt Newcastle to sell.

The England international is joined by Jermain Defoe, Andy Johnson and Feyenoord's Dirk Kuyt as potential targets.

A deadline day move for Defoe involving an exchange with Djibril Cisse was turned down by Spurs.

Liverpool will help to finance any moves by offloading both Cisse and Fernando Morientes who have both failed to make the expected impact at the club.

Why didn't they come in for him earlier then? Maybe they are trying to get him at a knock down price?
