Owen boost

As usual, in the event of a Michael Owen injury, we`ve packed him off to Germany for a second opinion from one of the many reknowned surgeons over there. Speaking to the press, Big Sam opted for a positive prognosis, believing the player could be back in action before Christmas. He said:

"We feel we have speeded up the process and it's going to be a little quicker than we first thought so that's really good news. We will only bring him back when he is 100 per cent and will not rush him. But we think it's going to be a lot less than six weeks.'

Definitely. I don't think he's played 20 games for us yet.

Owen has bad luck with injuries. Bad for him and bad for Newcastle.

Hopefully he will be back for us soon and scoring again. We need him in the team now as Martins keeps hitting hot and cold we need a consistant goalscorer.

i think the problems are dwn too big sam because as soon as he is half fit he is being played he needs to be fully fit sam makes newcastle sound desparate even tho they are its bad for the team
