'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Allardyce on the job ahead

Speaking following the debacle on Saturday, the gaffer offered little in the way of excuses and an explanation for it, instead providing an assessment of what lies ahead. Needless to say there wasn`t much of encouragement for Newcastle fans:

'It cant be done in a short period of times. They have been trying to do that for a number of years and it has not worked, so we are trying to do it slowly and surely and progressively and will hope we get there and sustain it, that is what I want us to do. We have got to do better and hopefully that will turn around in the next few weeks.'
