Know Your Enemy - Midfield

RM: Anthony Stokes / Carlos Edwards

Stokes came from Falkirk / Arsenal having scored a barry-load of SPL goals. Hasn`t really clicked for him in the top flight yet. Wenger doesn`t let class players go.

Edwards is the mackems` star man and like Whitehead has only just come back from a long spell on the sidelines. Again like Whitehead he`ll be touch and go on being able to play Saturday, especially in a violent and congested midfield area.

CM: Dickson Etu-who? and Grant Leadbitter

Etuhu came from Norwich I think. Should be odds on for getting a booking in this one as well. Will be an interesting tussle between him and Smith/Barton.

Leadbitter is a typical mackem skiprat. Has previous for being sent off in Tyne-Wear games having been red carded at under 19s for swearing at the referee. Barton has to work him in this ilk. Seems to be scoring reasonably frequently from midfield too, including one v Boro after 90 seconds.

LM: Liam Miller

Roy Jr. A Cork boy and Royston`s blue eyed trainee, having been at Man Utd and played at Celtic. Scored a belter against Boro to equalise for 2-2. Premiership class though?
