Dyer In Squad

Caretaker boss Glenn Roeder has included midfielder Kieron Dyer in the Newcastle squad for the vital Premiership clash with Portsmouth. The 27-year-old has not played for the club since appearing as a substitute in the 3-0 win at West Brom on October 30 because of hamstring and health problems.

Michael Owen (foot), Stephen Carr (hernia), Steven Taylor (shoulder), Craig Moore (hamstring) are all still missing while midfielder Amady Faye is away with Senegal.

Portsmouth captain Dejan Stefanovic, is out of the game and may face an operation on his injured ankle. The Serbian defender aggravated an old knock in Wednesday night's 1-1 draw with Bolton and is likely to be replaced by Linvoy Primus.

Andy Griffin looks set for the right-back spot against his old club and the rest of the side would appear to be the same as against Bolton with midfielder Gary O'Neil recovered from a stomach virus that took him off at half time.

Portsmouth (from): Kiely, Griffin, O'Brien, Primus, Taylor, Routledge, Mendes, Davis, O'Neil, D'Alessandro, Hughes, Todorov, Benjani, Karadas, Cisse, Priske, Ashdown.
