Sam: Harps is number one

Given Shay Given`s recent groin injury it seems a bit illogical for Sam to come out with this one but we`ll let him run with it as it`s derby week. Apparently Steve Harper is now our number one, facing the ferocious competition of Fraser Forster for the jersey. Speaking about the Pompey game he said:

'I bet David James had more saves to make in the first half than Stevie Harper. And you can't blame him for any of the goals. Even though we made a bad mistake for the second goal, it was a terrific finish from Benjani. It shows you what form he's in. Steve will be in goal for however many games he performs well in. Shay will be out for a couple of weeks or so, then hopefully he stays as fit as he can.'

Well...what other realistic options does he have then? Cousre he has to go for Harps when Givens out.

I am sure Shay given will soon return as number 1. If not I am sure Wenger will approach in January.
