Pedro To Become Manager?

Pedro To Become Manager?

If you Toon fans were swayed into thinking Peter Beardsley was set to replace Graham Souness as manager of Newcastle ... sorry folks! It looks as though the Monkey-Hangers are favourite to get the fella, rather than us. The Guardian Newspaper is linking Beardsley with the not yet vacant manager's post at Victoria Park.

The Guardian is expecting Scott to be sacked today following an internal investigation into the 'goings on' in the Pools dressing rooom after Saturday's defeat to Blackpool. Pedro and ex-Mackem Chris Turner are the names put forward.

Guardian report Michael Walker wrote:-

'Turner was successful at Hartlepool before his move to to Sheffield Wednesday. But he struggled at Hillsborough and then moved to Stockport County. He was sacked by County last month.

Beardsley is a former Hartlepool player and is currently low down the pecking order among the coaches at Newcastle United. The former England player, 45, is understood to be enthusiastic about getting into full-time management and he is friendly with the Hartlepool chairman Ken Hodcroft.'
