'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shearer Angry

Shearer was livid last night as Newcastle dumped Grimsby out of the Carling Cup. The reason for his anger was the Grimsby Captain who according to Shearer had "done" him following an arm to the face.

Shearer said he wanted to 'stick one on' the Grimsby captain!

'I wanted to go out there and stick one on him. I'm angry because he's done me. It's blatant, I know he's done it, the referee Mark Halsey is five yards away and hasn't done anything.'

Before admitting they answered Grimsby the best way possible:

'But the easiest way is to answer them is by scoring goals and that's what we've done.'
