'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shaymus on EMO & a decade

Long-term stopper and all round legend Shay Given has spoken today about his 'club` team mate Michael Owen, hailing his uber-recovery from abductor open surgery and also recollecting on his 10 years with the club. The Lifford-born leaping leprechaun quipped:

'For Michael to play six or seven days after having his operation and still have his stitches in is nothing short of phenomenal. He's shown his willingness and obviously his great forward play as well by getting on the score sheet and we've seen that on many occasions. Hopefully he'll keep banging the goals in for us this season.

'The ten years have gone really fast. There are some really good highs and obviously some lows along the way as well. It's a fantastic football club and a fantastic place to play football and hopefully there'll be plenty more highs in the future to come.'
