'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Club before country

Having been out injured since the Boro game, it`s pleasing to hear that the club have pulled the plug on another player going on international duty to cripple himself, as Steven Carr stays on Tyneside. As you might have gathered with my Michael Owen stance I`m not exactly buying into all the 'Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori' nationalist crap that the media seem to be stirring up. To put it mildly I`d rather see Newcastle beat Barnsley than watch England beat Brazil. To see our players coming home on crutches and with ice packs on various ailments is a further kick in the teeth to us the punters given it`s our gate / merchandising fees that subsidises their time on the treatment table. Score that 1-1 as it stands.
