The Duke speaks out

It was all smiles from our previously rotund Australian as he notched another couple of goals against the Hammers to break his duck in front of the home fans. Despite an unsuccessful hunt for the hat trick the Duke was nevertheless happy with his brace:

"I was desperate to score in front of the crowd here and it was a great feeling. It's always easier when you get it out the way early. Sometimes strikers go through a patch when they don't score for a long time, so it was good to get a couple in the match. Scoring early was a good thing. It went down the left and Charles put in a beautiful cross.

The second goal was an easy chance, but the way it came to me, it came in between my legs. I just went down and it hit both legs and went in. Maybe there was a bit of luck. A hat-trick creeps into your mind, of course, and you want to get as many as you can. It looked like I could have got another one, but it wasn't to be.'
