Faye deal in the balance

Once again in a Newcastle transfer the deal seems to be dragging on as we struggle to complete the signing of Abdoulaye Faye. A£2m fee for the defender has been sorted out with Bolton and he`s done his medical. What`s holding it up however, just as in the Barton deal, is the payment details. Sammy Lee has now warned the parties involved that the 29-year-old will be involved against Reading this weekend unless the situation is resolved:

"I`ve spoken to Abdoulaye - he`s worked hard this week on the training ground and he`s eager to be involved at the weekend. I left him out (against Fulham and Portsmouth) because I felt the speculation was getting to him and it was difficult for the boy. But he has responded well."
