'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sam - only one coming in

Speaking to the press Sam admitted that the summer spree looked to be coming to a close, with just the one signing left to come in. This remarkable twist might actually mean Alan Oliver being correct for once, having predicted this about a week ago. The latest news on Belletti is that Chelsea are now sniffing around the player, having been underwhelmed by Glenn Johnson and Paulo Ferreira. Anyway - Sam said:

'Sadly there's no movement on the transfer front at the moment. I'm just hoping we'll get one in this week and I'll keep hoping. But I'm very happy with the squad we've got. The concern is the international players going away and then coming back without any injuries, but of course it'll be good to see Jose Enrique getting fitter, Michael Owen playing for England and Emre [Belozoglu] getting some match practice for Turkey.

Hopefully they'll come back fitter and adding to the strength in depth of the squad. That'll be very good, we're moving forward OK and come Friday we want to have as big a squad available for Middlesbrough.'

Thanks but no thanks. We've just got shot of Dyer - we don't want another aimless bling boy coming in replacing him.
