As Sam closes in on completing the Abdoulaye Faye deal, the Chronicle has speculated on the fact the big fella is set to receive a whopping £30k a week deal. Not bad work given he was supposedly on less than £7k a week at Bolton.

Meanwhile speculation grows that the Belletti deal is set to be pushed through by the end of the week as well, hopefully leading to those 'Carr to Celtic` rumours coming true. £40k a week seems to be the going rate for the Barca flier.

Finally Fred, the Brazilian Lyon striker, remains another link. Quite why considering our options up front I don`t know…
