Silvestre bottles it
Having wondered for weeks who the mystery defender was that we bid £7m for in the summer, the Daily Mail revealed all this morning by claiming it was Man Yoo`s Mikael Silvestre. Apparently it was all set to go through before the Frenchman realised he would have to play alongside renowned Dabo batterer Joey Barton. The left back said:
"It was a good contract and a fine opportunity, but money is not the only thing in life. I could not sign for Newcastle out of respect for Ousmane Dabo.'
