Newcastle boss Graeme Souness insists he retains the full backing of the Newcastle board despite plenty of evidence to the contrary. But he could be handed a double boost for their crunch FA Cup fourth-round tie at Cheltenham Town with key midfielders Scott Parker and Emre on the brink of a return to first-team action.
Parker last played for Newcastle at Tottenham on New Year's Eve after missing the game at Liverpool with a knee problem sustained at West Ham back in mid-December.
Turkish star Emre has been missing since the defeat at Wigan in the Carling Cup in October after a hamstring problem. His injury was timed 'just right' for him to spend time at home in Turkey over the Christmas period ... for treatment of course. Obviously treatment that was not available to him in Newcastle.
HEY! You don't doubt the fella, do yer?
