They report: 'The latest hint that chairman Freddy Shepherd is set to change his manager came when Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley was told he can forget any offer for Lee Bowyer. For the time being at least.
'Our 'insider' at St James' Park confirmed that Curbishley is chasing the United midfielder, despite angrily rejecting reports linking Danny Murphy with a move to Tyneside.'
