Captain EMO?

Despite not going on record to actually pledge his Newcastle future until last week, EMO has wasted no time in the chatter stakes by apparently throwing his oar in for the vacant captain`s role for next season. In an interview with the Chronicle he said:

"Yes, I would love to skipper Newcastle United."

Hardly gushing stuff - but would our fans expect him as skipper? In a poll earlier in the summer your unanimous winner was Steven Taylor so we`ll have to wait and see on this one.

it would be madness to make him captain. he needs to be focused on getting himself fit and having an injury free season. the added pressure and distraction of being captain is something that he just does not need right now.
Dales_Dad
possibly dale but to be honest he seems stronger then ever and as he says he wants to stay at United i would accept it. Hes shown how strong mentally and physically he is to come back from such a devastation last season so id have no problems with either him, taylor or given to have the honour
Toon4LiFe
Totally agree with you Toon4Life, To give Owen it i think it would show that he is highly thought of and a major part of nufc and not just a player who owes Newcastle as FFS keeps pointing out to him.
