Beye bounces Big Sam?

Having had a pretty smooth ride so far this summer over the transfers it looks as if Big Sam might have run into a problem in his chase to sign Habib Beye from Marseille. The French club`s skipper has come out and pledged his loyalty to the club, declaring he wants to captain them in their Champions League campaign next season. Beye said:

'I am under contract for one more year with l'OM and I do not want to leave unless I am told to go elsewhere. At the appropriate time I will talk with the leaders, but now is not the time for that topic. The quality of the squad has improved, but that must be cemented on the pitch. The new players have shown their qualities at their previous club, and it is now with them to show it here.

On paper with have a beautiful team, but that is only on paper. [Bolo] Zenden is a player of international fame and the signature of [Djibril] Cisse is great news. We finished second in the championship and were finalists in the Coupe de France, and logically we want to improve year on year.'

Sounds as if he`s pretty set to be honest. Following Sidwell and Ben Haim decamping to the Bridge will it be another frustration for the big fella? This is football after all and what`s to say an extra Ł5k a week might get him singing from a different songsheet?
