'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Friday Fun Day

To summarise today`s anticipated comings and goings in the press:

• Bidding for Darren Bent. Price mentioned is in the region of £15m. Likelihood? Non starter;

• Rozenhal - decision today between us and Sevilla. Likelihood? Big Dave to join the team that`s offering Champions League football. That`s not us incidentally;

• Luke Young - ourselves, Bolton and Villa chasing the full back. Likelihood? The best of the three so far;

• England`s Michael Owen - to Man City. For £8m. Likelihood? You are taking the piss!

• Alan O`Brien - Hibs bound according to the Daily Record. Likelihood? Definitely a go-er;

• Nicky Shorey - linked, but set to sign a new deal with the Royals. Likelihood? Probably inking Steve Coppell as I type this;

• Martins - Chelsea and Arsenal keeping tabs on the Nigerian apparently. Likelihood? If Henry finally sods off to Barca, probably quite likely;

• Alan Smith - linked for £3.5m in the Mirror. Likelihood? Unknown at present;

• Steven Taylor - being monitored by Mourinho as a potential Terry partner. Likelihood? Terry, Carvalho, Ben Haim are all vying for first team places. Hardly likely when Sam`s building a defence around him.

Taylor certainly did himself no harm in the U21s.
