'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Quiet Sunday

After a quiet week of rumours I think the majority of us were expecting a speculation frenzy this morning as we opened the red tops. Oh, how we were let down!

Starting off it`s the NOTW`s take on the continuing striker conundrum. With Sam`s front four seemingly selected now, they still persist in linking us with front men. Prolific Sevilla and former Spurs/West Ham goalgetter Fredi Kanoute tops this list with a £7m price tag on him. Naturally the striker to leave is England`s Michael Owen. Quotes from Kanoute`s reps suggest he`s keen on the move, saying:

'It's true Newcastle are interested, but so are Portsmouth. There's no concrete offer yet but Fredi is interested.'

Leaving this aside it`s pretty dead otherwise, with former targets the only point of interest. Bakari Sagna looks to be on his way to Arsenal, with a £6m bid having been accepted. Curtis Davies is being heavily linked to Spurs whilst last weekend`s link, Ludovic Guily, is a target for Celtic.
