'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Everybody Pigbag

As per, Boro seem to have a lot to say when it comes to NUFC. Not happy with damning talk of our current chairman launching a takeover bid for the Bitter Beasts, both Southgate and Lamb have come out with their tuppence worth on the Duke:

Keith Lamb

'The fans can be assured that everyone at the club did everything they could to persuade Mark to stay. We tried to convince him that his future was here, but he has decided to go up the road to Newcastle instead. We'll move on.

Mark Viduka is part of our glorious past now, and it's not about what has happened in the past. It's about what we do in the future. I'm confident that Gareth Southgate will find a more than adequate replacement for Mark Viduka.'

Southgate:

'It is a regret for me, but we did everything we could as a club to try and keep him. The fact that he was in the latter months of his contract was difficult. It meant he was able to speak to other people, but there was nothing more from that period on that we could have done.'
