'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ze Germans throw in ze towel

Big Sam looks to have made another foray into the transfer market, this time by sorting out a deal for David Rozenahl over the weekend. Having been in Cardiff over the weekend to watch the Czech centre half play, Sam seems to have stolen a march on Borussia Dortmund, who seemed keen to sign the player as a replacement for Real Madrid bound Christian Metzelder.

Dortmund spokesman Hans-Joachim Watzke quipped:

"We were keen on him long before the English registered their interest, but Paris won't allow him to join us. Financially we have gone as far as possible and we won't be part of a bidding race. We won't and we can't afford to spend €5million (£3.3m) for a central defender.'

It`s a bit strange a club getting 80,000 a week can`t handle £3.3m but never mind. Their loss = our gain.

Less backbone than a slug from Dortmund. never mind - the guy looked quality on Saturday, good signing.

Until he gets to the Centre Half graveyard that is St James Park, that is!
BomBom
Good player. Will be a good signing. We'll still need at least one more centre-back for cover, though.
arctoa
I'd say nearer three for cover including Rozehnal. Ramage is *****e and Edgar and Hunty aren't up to the grade yet.
