Is Parker being pushed out?

Interesting developments from the Journal this morning as they use quotes from a source close to Scott Parker revealing he`s not exactly keen on leaving. Obviously we here at Vital Newcastle are uncertain about whether or not these are kosher or whether they are just platitudes to the club to stop him being booed next time he comes back up here. Anyway here are the quotes in full:

"Scott wants to stay at Newcastle but he doesn't feel as though the club want to keep him. He had a few problems with some sections of the club's supporters recently but he was keen to come back and prove them wrong next season rather than leave. He was not the only player frustrated by what happened last season and he wanted to put things right. He was the club captain and it hurt him to receive abuse from his own fans. However, Scott is not a quitter and he was excited by Sam Allardyce's arrival and what it meant for the team. But he feels the club are making it difficult for him to stay because they already have a replacement lined up.'

Looks like he's on his way - I think it's just his agent feeding the papers a bit of good publicity for his client.

Aye, it's interesting that these lines only come out once he's agreed a bumper contract with West Ham. I think it's just diplomacy to keep us off his back in future. Either way, good luck to him.

I agree. He's in a hurry to push it through for a man who doesn't want to leave.
