The morning`s papers are all pretty unanimous in the fact we seem to be signing Joey Barton for a fee of around about £5.5m, although the Mirror suggests he will be speaking to West Ham this week. However, never to be outdone, The Sun speculates that we have inserted a bit of added protection into the deal in the form of a Prison Clause, meaning that if Joey goes down for the Dabo assault then we lose £5.5m and cut him loose. Surely if they`re that worried about him having porridge for breakfast we shouldn`t be signing him and putting such a large investment at risk? Bizarre.
