Takeover Turmoil

Takeover Turmoil

In news I doubt any of us wanted to hear, the papers are speculating that Freddie Shepherd apparently has an ally to help him keep control of the club. With fan opinion totally swayed against Shepherd and wanting change, it seems a defiant but probably stupid attempt by FFS to keep his dividends and kudos from being a club chairman. The paper speculates that this 'mystery ally' is set to offer 125p a share for the club.

The fact most of us probably think this is an attempt to bleed a higher share price out of Ashley for his stake shouldn't understate the danger of Shepherd remaining in control. No debt relief, no transfer warchest and years of him and Alan Oliver to put up with.

Come on Mr Ashley - get him bought out.

I wish Shepherd would just ***** off. he's more past his sell by date than that bunch of bananas in my pantry, they're black.

Brighton winning and Newcastle drawing saw Albion return to the top of the table. Huddersfield couldn't close the gap though. Wigan, Blackburn & Rotherham are still the bottom three.
