Bale means Baines?

With Gareth Bale set for a £10million move to Spurs, the options for Wigan left back Leighton Baines seem to be narrowing. With our interest obvious, Bale`s move seems to signal the end of one chaser`s attempts to get him. That leaves Arsenal feasibly as maybe the only club with an interest in signing the left back, although Clichy (if he can stay injury free) seemingly rules out that idea.

Hopefully things will clear themselves up in the next couple of weeks.

Eboue, Clichy, Hoyte. Think that rules out goon. As for toon, i hear they only got 15mil to spend without making player sales first? Will Big Sam really want to spend half the budget on a left back...

Dont count your chickens just yet, the Bale thing has been denied by Soton so we may, as a sizeable number of our supporters hope, still be in the hunt for Baines. If I were honest though you must be favourites with the SA influence. COYS

CG - there will be massive player sales, without even touching the main pot. Emre -> Germany, Zogbia -> Anywhere, Martins -> Juve, Parker -> West Ham. Plus plenty of other players shipped off the wage bill - Srnicek, Bramble, Moore, Onyewu, Sibierski, Carr, Babayaro. Should be a great summer for rumours.

I heard you after Emile Heskey to renew his partnership with Owen!

Arsenal don't need a left back. More tabloid talk.

forget my comment of 25 mins ago. It would appear a billionaire has just bought shepards shares in toon. Happy shopping now on...

A great player Brett, we can only hope that Mr.Wenger has 140k a week burning a hole in his pocket.

hehehe... Carr being shipped out, eh? Bet he wishes he'd stuck it out at Spurs now... ;)

I wish Carr had stayed at Spurs. He's *****e.

what that chubby fat boy we palmed to the Geordie boys for loads of fat freddie's cash - not good enough for Spurs. As for being bought out by a billionaire, its seems no matter how much cash Newcastle spend they are just poor - you've got a good manager now and I expect Sam to change it for the better, its been a long time since any Geordie fan has seen silverware - ooops, sorry you never seen any
