As a client of the odious Willie McKay, it`s little surprise that Antoine Sibierski has knocked back our offer of an additional year`s contract. With all the alleged big guns now fit and well and certain to start, along with the emergence of Andy Carroll, there seems little place for Le Sib in the team. Needless to say he`s had a cracking season and will leave SJP with his reputation in high esteem. There aren`t many, if any, French players I can think of that have managed that before. Good luck wherever you end up Tone.
McKay said:
"Antoine has turned down Newcastle's offer of a new one-year deal as he was holding out for a two-year deal. Antoine had a great time at Newcastle, but he is now prepared to move on. He is feeling fit and he believes that he can play on at the highest level for several more years. He is available on a free transfer and I am speaking to a few clubs who are very keen on him. Antoine is open to offers and he is keen to get something sorted very quickly.'
