In a cheeky and probably not best thought out move Mark Hughes has offered his sympathies to Glenn Roeder for his sacking. Basically it`s like the hangman saying sorry for kicking the stool away from the bloke in the noose`s feet. Still the Blackburn boss quipped: It is very difficult. We are all judged on results. We have to win Premier League games.

'Points at Premier League level are like gold dust. They are so valuable to everybody and when you don't gain Premier League points, then people are not happy, and that is understandable.'

Whilst I HATE being the last team to play a club before a manager leaves Roeder was a dead man walking WHOEVER had beaten you on Saturday, it just so happened to be Rovers.
