'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Rain In Spain ...

Hugo Viana is hoping to play a vital role as Valencia continue their challenge for honours on two fronts this season. The 22-year-old winger has been a bit-part player since joining on a season-long loan from Newcastle as he has been struggling to find full fitness.

However, Viana played his first full game for Valencia in midweek as they beat Villarreal to reach the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey. Valencia can go within three points of second-placed Osasuna with three points at the Mestalla on Sunday, and confidence is high throughout the team after a superb goal from full-back Miguel put them into the last eight of the cup.

Viana: 'It was my first game of 90 minutes. I'm happy with my work and my physical condition. When you do not play you cannot demonstrate your way of playing but I have confidence in my condition and my football, and playing raises confidence in yourself.

'Valencia are a very good club and has a very good squad. Therefore, we are extremely focused on winning in the league and also in the Copa.'
