'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Part 2 - Glenn Gabbing

On Mighty Mini Milner:

"I have been so pleased at what James Milner has done in the past couple of weeks and I have had him in the office this week and told him so. He has done well all season for someone who is still so young, but he became a man in our last home game with Chelsea. He had to have stitches put into an ankle injury at half-time but he still went out and gave a top international full- back a hard time. It's ironic that at the start of the season his only complaint was that he was not getting enough games, but he now has over 50 starts and sub appearances to his name and this could not be more deserved. We have no intention of selling James but his value has certainly shot up this season.'

On those Oba to Valencia rumours:

"The only way Oba Martins is going to Valencia is for his summer holidays. He signed a five-year contract for us and I expect him to see that out. As far as tomorrow is concerned, I hope having Michael Owen back will take a bit of the pressure off Martins.'

On Andy Carroll:

"I have worked with a lot of young players and we have a real problem in this country - as soon as they do quite well, how well they have done is blown out of all proportion. He is just doing OK, and what he has done is earned himself a four-year contract that gives him an opportunity to have a career here at Newcastle.'
