'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A man concerned?

With speculation rumbling on about Sam Allardyce and our worst PL return expected from this season I`d say it was a fair assumption to class Glenn Roeder as a man under pressure. He`s once again responded to last night`s shambles by coming out all guns blazing and cock sure that he`s the right man for the job:

"Down the years Newcastle have always been an easy target for speculation - it happened with Graeme Souness, Bobby Robson and now me. It's the same with the players - any time a player wants to leave a club people speculate that he wants to join Newcastle United. That's the animal and that's how it is. I certainly don't lose one second's sleep over it. I've been through too many things in my life to worry about speculation. I am not worried at all. But I'm not surprised by things like this.'

The Souness-esque soundbites just keep on coming…

Let the dust settle off last night. Lets see if he can get any fight out of them in the last two games. If not...the bullet beckons.

He's never going to cut the mustard. Get shot now before we all jump off the Tyne Bridge.

iF anyone should no that its us toon fans.. Would u lot trade him for big sam !? first half we looked a strong side and the 64% away possession shows we dominated. But with nicky and scotty out and then emre and Q ball injured no wonder the second half werent as promising. But i think if roeder had more or less the team we had last night throught the season, we'd be much higher the league. I say let roeder keep his job for a full season with a full squad (including summer signings) and see what he can really produce. Clubs are too quick to sack managers and I dont no about u lot but i dont wanna start playin like bolton.
Toon4LiFe
Big Sam for toon I think ... Roeder can steady the ship but will not take you guys forward IMO

He's done about as much as he can. Time for FFS to try and take a step up.
