'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Owen v Shola

Apparently, according to this morning`s Journal, Shola and EMO are in a race to see which one of them will make their competitive comeback first. With Shola streets ahead now, following his reserves run out, Little Mickey has apparently set his sights on a return against Reading in a fortnights time. Shola was his chipper self, talking to the media and explaining how working together has helped get them motivated:

"It's been strange trying to work my way back with Michael because we have been doing the rehab side by side. We have been going through similar stages together and certainly towards the end we have been having a competition to see who gets back first. It's been good to have him with me. We are both dying to get back and hopefully we can do that as soon as possible.

You need match fitness if you want to play in the Premiership and although I still feel off the pace, I am getting there. Match fitness is totally different from training. There is always pressure coming back from injury. Certainly there is the pressure I put on myself. It's a nervous pressure. Until you put yourself about and get out there, you don't know how you will react but playing for the reserves has helped me get over that little hurdle in your mind.'

Crock race! Better than a rat race I suppose. More of a donkey race. Stick me down for a tenner on Shola.

I've got a sneaky feeling we might see England's finest on Sunday. Stick me down for a fizzy dip and a packet of Refreshers.
