Papers fuelling Zog talk

With the row between Chuck the Zog and Glenn Roeder being pretty much national news now, it didn`t take long for the Fleet Street Harpies to start linking the Frenchman with a move away. In the papers this morning laughable stories about a £3m move to Arsenal seemed to be de rigeur. £12m for Walcott means I`d want at least treble the sum quoted. Unsurprisingly Tottenham, the team of the twenty midfielders, seem to want to add another to their Panini album across the centre of the park. Laughable really.

He can go for me if we get the right brass - heads already down at the Emirates.
Agree with you BE - his mate Wenger's gone and harpooned his Newcastle career.
He's not a bad litle player, if I was you lot I'd wanna keep him...but wether we'd have him off you lot is different matter!!
I hear that Roeder's trying to turn the Zog into a centre midfielder. If that's true, then it's a complete waste of a young talent, who's best on the wing. If that's true, I can see why the row erupted. We need a winger, Zog wants to play on the wing. Perfect match, as far as I can see.
Yeah,as laughable as when Jermain Jenas was coming to us. You ain't as big as you think you are. Owen's gone in the summer, Zog, as you call him can't get a game and Duff has lived up to his name. What coup that was, nobody wants to play for you unless you offer silly money, and do you really want players like that? Only there for the money. Come back to the real world, mid table at best, unless you get rid of Roeder. You've got a few good players, but not enough to make an impact,Martins is far and away your best player, let's hope nobody comes in for him, or you lot are *****ed!!!!
Must say that every season I expect you to emerge as a serious contender. You seem to have the players and the fans. The Zog did have a good reputation, and left sided players are hard to come by for some teams!!! Any chance it could be Roeder out instead? You do deserve a great manager with the support you've got.
Can we swap him for jenas the penis!
I don't get your comment. We have twenty midfielders, yes - but not one left sided midfielder. So, if true, why wouldn't Tottenham be considering him? Richspursfan... I'm a Spurs fan, but you sound like a right knob. What superiority do Spurs hold over Newcastle again?
What about Teemu Tainoo (sp?)? I just don't get where Spuds are going to fit in all these players - Huddlestone, Lennon, Tainoo, Zokora, Jenas, Murphy then N'Zogbia??? N'Zogbia's a decent enough player but he's soft - a good kicking and he's out the game, much like every left sided French player we've had.
As for Roeder - he'll be gone this summer. He seems a man on the edge now.
DB ............. Try Spurs have actually won a lot of honours !!!!!!
Yidskin - same old tedious stuff from you lot. We've won plenty - just when tvs were in black and white or not invented! N'Zogbia's already heading for the exit door. Good player, usual questionable Frenchie attitude.
u need freddy out first...employing roeder and paying way over the odds for all your players is why ur a midtable team (not injuries). who he gonna employ, looking at his track record probly one of the chuckle brothers or something
Locky - Fred's in for the long haul. Two potential takeovers down the swanny already. he is culpable for all our current problems - however we are genuinely stuck with him.
Newcastle should not be looking to get rid of there best players, you have an amazing fan base but struggle to attract the best players unless they are after a big pay day. Owen owes you and if he moves he will be a huge let down to everyone. On the flip side the zog would be welcome at the yids next year!!!
Owen more than owes us! £10m quid in wages for 10 games so far.
Hatethegoons - no way! The goldfish bowl was too much for that waster. He'll end up at Villa I reckon.
Owen will end up being the death of the club. We've flogged all the family silver to try and afford him. He's not Beckham - his shirt sales aren't going to cover the wedge we're paying him.
Heh. Now there's a surprise - the papers linking Spurs with ANOTHER player - according to them I think we must be signing about 200 of 'em come summer. Ignore all to gossip-mongering, lads. It's just lazy journalism, on a story that practically writes itself, to fill column inches. On the subject of your boys; I can't help but agree with some of these comments. I've noticed for a while now NUFC has become a home to mercenary players looking for a big payday and not really giving you a satisfactory return for it. I'd be vexed in a big way if I were a Newcastle fan. Clear out the parasites and rebuild is what I say. Anyways, all the best!
Well DB, my point was, that we got all these comments about it being a joke that JJ would want to play for spurs, just before he signed for us. So if you read carefuly, not once did i say i wouldn't want N'Zogbia, my respone originaly was to the " laughable really " comment at the end of the article. And your welcome to your opinion, but a least be factual with it. I think you will find the comment i refered to earlier which promted my response implies that Newcastle fans or some of them think they are superior to us. Rather have Milner myself, and if anybody sounds like a knob, that would be you DB.
Jenas has hardly set the world alight down in London. He realised it was a sideways move, Spurs are very similar to Newcastle in that only us two clubs seem to have the ambition to spend to chase down the 'Big Four' (Martins and Berbatov for example). Thus the case of always being linked with similar players like Duff.
Rich - I don't think the laughable really comment was meant as a dig at Spurs - more the fact the media have pounced on the first inkling of a row and blown it up into a signed, sealed and delivered transfer deal.
That's how I read it too Baldie. The fact the media have whipped themselves into a frenzy about that is a testament to just how busy this summer is going to be in terms of links, deals, swaps etc. I reckon we can easily break the 100 players linked barrier from season end to close of the window.
