'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Roeder responds

With the red tops running stories about England`s Michael Owen to the Mancs over the weekend I don`t suppose it would be a normal Monday morning without Glenn Roeder issuing some sort of denial about a transfer story that has cropped up in the Sunday rags. This time it`s a rather predictable comeback to those stories:

"It's all news to me. But I certainly haven't waited all these months to write (England`s) Michael Owen's name on my team-sheet to even contemplate selling him. Michael is a very big part of my plans for next season and I know he's been as frustrated as everyone else and can't wait to start playing for Newcastle again. Personally, I can't wait to see him scoring goals for us that no-one else can.'

So there!

As day follows night Glenn comes out chatting. Tedious.

He does right though. Imagine the hell on if he kept quiet - people might actually start thinking it's true.
