EMO banned from England?

In an interesting story that seems to have slipped under the radar of many of the red tops there is a growing belief that England`s Michael Owen could be prevented from playing for the national bandits until the wrangle over his compensation for the WC injury is sorted out. To be honest, it would be music to my ears if the people that actually pay the players` wages could stick it up the arrogant national associations. Looking no further than the recent Martins and Babayaro bother with Nigeria, it would be great if we could set a precedent in this area.

Apparently we are set to challenge the FA in a lawsuit over their ability to call up players. With some calling it the most important footballing case since Bosman here`s hoping the FA get shafted. The buzz line is if our action is successful, clubs would be able to refuse to release players for all England matches unless the FA provide adequate financial compensation. Geddin.

The only issue is what Owen makes of all this. No doubt a dummy would be spat out if he couldn`t play in the first game at Wembley, however I`m sure we`ll see what happens in due course.

can't see how he could be banned, can't physically stop him playing for England if he is fit. Agree he would be much better with the summer off and some loyalty shown to the club making him even richer though.

We pay his wages so we should have the final call. The FA have stiffed us - Owen being missing has cost us more than just his wages. Goals are worth more, especially at 500k a PL place.

We're heading for trouble if we take this course. The FA will make it a special mission to nail us on any irregularities. Fred's got loads of them.

Go on Freddie lad - nail the FA!! Never get a better chance than this to take them down a peg or two.

Imagine somewhere down the line we end up in a West Ham situation and Shepher'd stitched England up like this - we'd be screwed at any disciplinary panel.
