'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Taylor Talk

With Steven Taylor hitting 50 Premiership appearances tomorrow, the boss has spoken out in praise of the lad who has pretty much been the mainstay of our defence this season:

Roeder on Taylor:

"Young Taylor is having his best run of the season so far, but he knows that, like James Milner, he has to keep his feet on the ground and his head out of the clouds. He has shown a lot of improvement lately and we are especially delighted at the way he has become very aggressive at set pieces in opposing penalty areas. It's no surprise that all four of his goals for us have come from corner kicks because he has the knack of attacking the ball, and this is another excellent string to his bow. Now I would like to see him step up his goalscoring and there is no reason why he should not get near to double figures for us every season."

Taylor on Tony Adams and turning out:

"It would be great not only to play well but to get a goal in front of Tony Adams. But, more importantly, it would be great for our supporters who we know will be out in force despite the long trip.'
