Glenn on the Duff/Dyer

With the Irishman having been well below par recently his recent form has taken something of an upturn. Indeed enough so to get the boss purring…Gaffer Glenn piped up with:

'Damien Duff looks a different player in the last three or four games. He looks like the Damien Duff we brought here at the start of the season, and I am really, really pleased for him because he is a great guy to work with.

I hope he finishes the season like he has played these last four games, if you include his two international performances. We can look forward to the Damien Duff everyone knows for the next four years when we start pre-season in July.'

On our pinheeded multi-millionaire, he announced that the hamstrings are starting to tingle again after 20 games injury free:

"Kieron has got a slight tightness in his hamstring, but it is not the hamstring which caused him problems for 18 months. That is perfectly sound, and is very strong. It is the one he has never had a problem with - and this is not an issue either. Kieron is confident he will be fit for Saturday.

I am a very patient person and, as much as I would have liked to have kept him on, it was my decision to take him off to protect him so he is fit for the rest of the season, not just Portsmouth. I made the substitution early rather than be stupid and wait for it to ping and then bring him off.'

Anyone else predict a Japanese sniper job on Saturday? 10/11 on that he suffers an injury breakdown at some stage against the Pompey.

agree Ross, anoether injury is overdue, would be fantastic if him and Owen could go on a run though, you know, 5 or 6 games :o)
