Paper talk targets

Paper talk targets

Given our fantastic success rate with the gringos from the Iberian peninsular (Marcelino, Luque and Viana proving spectacular signings for us…) the media seem pretty confident we`ll be going down the Portuguese route come the summer. The People sees us set to sign Nelson, a fact supporting by mentions of the player in the Sunday Sun. The same paper sees us linked with mooted moves for Joao Moutinho, wingers Nani and Simao and defender Marco Caneira who were watched in Sporting Lisbon's defeat of Porto last Saturday. Benfica's right-back Nelson and their Brazilian centre-back Luisao have also been checked out several times.

Also linked with moves to Gallowgate were long term targets Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Ryan Babel along with left back Urby Emanuelson But 25-year-old Razvan Roland Rat, currently with Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, has also emerged as the Skoda option for Roeder`s Rolls Royce squad.

Meanwhile the out of contract Bramble has been linked with a move down a division, with East Anglian neighbours of his former club Ipswich, Norwich City featuring high on the interest list.

you've got to laugh, how would the papers know who we want? Bramble, how much did he cost again, I know it was a high fee, and now he can walk out for nothing. What a farce we are at times.
