'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Owen rumours

Despite the fact he`s only played 10 games for us the media are in a hurry to decide Owen`s future away from Tyneside. With Europe a pipedream for the rest of the season it`s now rumoured that if we don`t qualify he`ll be away. This has to go down as the highest level of bullsh*t ever. If Owen even considered doing that he`d be shown to have the loyalty level of Don King. Imagine it - 17million of transfer fee and 10m of wages for 10 games. It doesn`t bear thinking about. Anyway Glenn Roeder has been quick to pour scorn on the rumours this morning:

'I would be shocked when Michael Owen is fully fit if he was not playing his football at Newcastle. There is no reason why he should not be playing here next year. If there is no Euro football next season, there will be the year after. I speak to Michael every day, I have a very good rapport with him. But like a lot of senior players, the big hitters - and we have got some big hitters even though we have not got a team of them yet - will be looking to see what I bring in. They want to be in a winning team, Michael wants to be in a winning team.'

it would be a disaster if owen left he has so much to prove especially for the amount you paid for him, unless you make a massive profit then dont sell he is the only decent striker you have
