Gaffer on Emre

Having vociferiously backed his Turkish midfielder throughout the months the lad has had the charge hanging over him GR spoke out today on his views of the hearing and the place the former Inter man has in his plans:

'I thought the hearing was very fair and that the decision that has been made was the correct one. In the time I have worked with Emre, he has never shown any tendencies towards being racist and, as people know, that is a subject I feel very strongly about. Now I just hope Emre will be left alone to resume his career without anything hanging over him. It has been a difficult time for Emre but I know he has been very appreciative of the support he has received from everyone within the squad and around the club. He is a very well respected member of the squad and he gets on very well with everyone at the club.'

Positive notes for the future then from Glenn but still a distinct lack of denial about any of the various links that seem to be cropping up in the newspapers of late.
