'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rumour mill - Sunday's papers

Silly season has officially started down on Fleet Street and even locally at Thomson House. Three rumours carry on making the press. First up is the Magic Carpet Ride that is the Roy and Niall Roadshow. With those on wearside already presuming they`re promoted, Damien Duff seems to be one of the logical targets linked with the mackems. Irish and having done nothing for us so far, he seems an easy target to link away from the club. Second up is his former Chelsea teammate Scott Parker. With places in the midfield at a premium and Nicky Butt so outstanding in the midfield role, it seems the club captain has been repeatedly linked with a move away back to London. Finally Chelsea feature in the last link as well, that of centre half Steven Taylor to the Russian Rentboys. Taylor was mentioned by Chelsea along with Oba Martins when we went sniffing about for Shaun Wright-Phillips back in January. Needless to say they got short shrift on both counts.

Taylor to Chelski!!!??? What a pile of crap! There's no way he'd even get near to getting Carvalho or Terry out the team!

Duff to the mackems?! Just because he's a Paddy doesn't mean he'll sign for them. I think he'll end up at Spuds.

Sell Duff to the mackems - who cares? He's just another to add to the Maric, Andersson, Pistone, Guivarch all hype, no substance list.

Duff would be no loss at all, would like Parker to stay but wouldnt be that surprised if he was allowed to leave for the right offer.

Who else to play on the left if he goes?! N'Zogbia? Hes decent but still young.. The irishman still has alot of magic in him as u saw in europe.. He just needs more games in a blacknwhite shirt. As for Parker, we have nicky butt to cover him. But if u look at all the top teams, they have a quality bench so why go selling ours and cause caos when a player gets injured!? I say keep all our talent & just get rid of Luque.
