Lee Clark called it 'the worst injury crisis I have known in my career'. And the list just grows and grows. Scott Parker underwent a knee operation on Wednesday afternoon which will sideline him for three to five weeks.
The England player injured his right knee in the 4-2 win at West Ham when Michael Owen, who is also out for weeks, scored a hat-trick.
Owen is out with a broken metatarsal and had an operation on Tuesday to insert a metal pin and will be out for around 10 weeks. Parker had surgery in London the following day.
Souness: 'He shook his knee up at West Ham but Scott being Scott, he played on.'
