'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Recently v the Beasts

2005/06 2-2

Nobby Solano put Newcastle ahead before goals from Yakubu and Fat Eddie Murphy Hasselbaink put the Smogs ahead. Souness`s borrowed time was just about over before Lee Clark popped up with a stoppage time equaliser.

2004/05 0-0

0-0, close to the end of the season. Within weeks our fans were throwing Pepperami leaflets disguised as paper aeroplanes onto the pitch against Crystal Palace as another dour 0-0 came and went. Super Souness entertainment.

2003/04 2-1

Bellamy and Shearer goals as the lads eased to a win. Ugo Ehiogu had one of those games to forget.

2002/03 2-0

Shola and a late goal from Steve Caldwell saw the fans go home happy from this night game.

2001/02

"We are top of the league" as Speed, Shearer and a belter from Bernard saw off a near to useless Boro side.

2000/01

The Boksic game. Two goals for the Croatian, Phil Stamp sent off and a Cort reply from ourselves.

1999/00

The Shearer-Solano double act were in cracking form as the skipper bagged two headers to win this for NUFC.

1998/99

A pre cup final nothing game. Shearer continued his decent end of season form.

1996/97

Beardsley at the double and running to see his ball boy son Drew as he lashed home a penalty. Sir Les got the other.

1995/96

Sir Les crashed home as Ginola spent the whole night driving Neil Cox one step closer to the Prozac.
