"Michael is back running and on the training ground where he belongs. People ruled him out for this season but he will prove them wrong. And that has given everyone a huge boost. Other players coming back from injury has also helped. It's a good time for us - the competition for places is getting better and better.'

On the UEFA Cup:

'Performances like the one in Palermo, when we were underdogs, showed we perform better against good sides. The lads raise their game. We don't care how we win, just that we win. Sometimes you have to win ugly, and we are capable of that now.'
