Krul Reveals NUFC Exit Concerns

Krul Reveals NUFC Exit Concerns

Tim Krul has been speaking about his recent exit from Newcastle as he looks like starting his first game in a long time at Brighton.

Krul who spent over ten years here since a debut against Palermo as a stand in European competition was quoted in local paper The Shields Gazette.

With Krul suffering a few injuries and then being shipped out on loan, his uninspiring performances whilst elsewhere seemed to provide the writing for the wall of his Newcastle career although Krul has some concerns.

He said that the way in which he was told his career here was over was harsh and then even moreso by Rafa Benitez's insistance that he train with the kids at the academy.

Personally I see nothing wrong with being honest and if a player is surplus to requirements then you can understand the need to keep them away from the senior squad for various reasons including affecting the morale of the camp.

Quoted on it, Krul said:

I said to the gaffer 'give me a chance, I`ll show you I`m back', Rafa had different ideas. He said 'it doesn`t matter what you do'. That`s the business.

Listen, I know how football works. If somebody wants to get rid of you, I don`t mind. If the right offer comes, I`ll go. I wouldn`t sit there just for the sake of it, but the way it was done. I shouldn`t have been put in the Academy. I just wanted to be treated with respect.

Maybe Krul's views are maybe down in part to how he expects previous managers at the club would have reacted but with Rafa being as professional as he is, him telling Krul straight is as respected as it comes as previous players stories under previous managers will no doubt vouch for. See Jonas Gutierez and Ryan Taylor for starters with their versions of finding out.
