NUFC Takeover Position Revealed Soon
It's fair to say that our return to the Premier League has been dominated by one subject and it's not been on the football pitch.
It is, of course, the return of politics dictating the agenda here at St James' with a sale more than past it's due date amidst a decade of asset stripping and soul sapping tempered by moments of light at the end of the tunnel in the shape of a potential buyer.
We've had all of the mind games played and the propaganda stories to build up enough experience in believing anything or not with the majority of positive vibes here just a little smokescreen let off to get away with doing just enough to cash the cheque at the end of the season.
That's been found out now and one method that is doomed to failure and aside from not quite believing that someone wants to take the club off Mike Ashley's hands, it's even less believable that Ashley wants to let go of his cash cow.
With recent stories on social media and in the media of there being genuine interest from The Middle East, talk has been a mixture of silence, positivity and hope in that a deal can be struck.
With Ashley admitting himself that this football lark isn't what he thought it would be, it seems that his advertising of his brand has gone far enough and that he may be cashing in his chips.
For those of us on the fence types, the forthcoming January window will be the biggest indicator in whether there's any truth in the rumours of a sale with small buys and loans maybe being replaced with players that Rafa Benitez genuinely thinks can progress the club or improve the quality.
The next two weeks will reveal all.
