Trust The Key Word Regarding Rafa

Trust The Key Word Regarding Rafa

Amidst a backdrop of all sorts of off the pitch politics dominating things as always on Tyneside, other issues stick out like a sore thumb.

Our recent results are the headline that gets played out regarding the action but it hardly matches some of our play at times and it most certainly isn't reflected in any disharmony from the terraces as we are roundabout where we predicted we'd be.

Little pockets of misinformed voices have recently started to let themselves be heard via the almost invisible world of social media but as I have labelled them, taking in the facts will excuse many aspects of blame.

One thing I reckon and partly my main reason for being diluted in any criticism towards Rafa is that I thing he is in charge of a false economy. By that I mean the majority of the whole squad would be different if he had proper control of transfers.

If or when we eventually have an owner that allows us to become a football club again, we would then see changes with probably only the likes of Mikel Merino safe from any cull.

The fact that Rafa chops and changes teams whether individuals have performed or not in their previous game or had a bad spell in training just reeks of a lack of trust.

I would say the vast majority of fans on Tyneside know the long term score in that Mike Ashley has allowed the club to be lacking for too long and it has finally caught up with us with only a complete overhaul of how the club is run being the thing that can save us. Not changing managers, maybe not buying average players to fill out the squad. Just a new direction.

Be interesting to see what squad Rafa has two years after any potential takeover as I reckon it would be unrecognisable from what we have now.
