NUFC v Bournemouth Pre-Match

NUFC v Bournemouth Pre-Match

St James' Park sees another potential 6 pointer when we face a team that is supposedly going to finish in or around our target area for the season.

Bournemouth providing the opposition in what is a decent chance for us to get another 3 points on our running total going into the enforced friendly international and World Cup play off break.

Today's starting side will probably be one of the only times we can get close to guessing as Rafa Benitez usually springs a surprise.

However, I just cant see him bow to the odd twitter rant and start Aleksandar Mitrovic or can I see him do likewise with Ayoze Perez by dropping him after Rafa described his fellow Spaniard as doing lots of unrewarding work on the pitch. I also cant see him use Mo Diame from the start with Isaac Hayden now fully fit.

The only surprise for me would be if he put Henri Saivet in the Tiote role but then again ive mentioned it so it wouldn't be. Also with Matt Ritchie and Christian Atsu both former Bournemouth players, the incentive is there for them to try a little extra.

My predicted starting XI

Yedlin, Lascelles, Lejeune, Manquillo

Ritchie, Hayden, Shelvey, Atsu

Watch Rafa trump us all again with a surprise or two to make us look daft.
